Representatives of Bureau Veritas Thanked the Government of Georgia for Close Cooperation in Process of Inquiry

“As a result of our three-day inspection and investigation, we have inferred that the incident of Sadzele is not related with systematic malfunctions or mechanical defects since the device was systematically in order for comprehensive functioning,” – Ugur Karaman, one of the representatives of the Bureau Veritas, declared at a press conference on March 16 in Gudauri.

The First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Dimitry Kumsishvili presented an independent report prepared by Bureau Veritas on the incident in Gudauri.

According to Ugur Karaman, the incident was caused by the negligence of an operator.

“After the voltage dropdown, the operator carried out wrong actions and steps that led to the system backwardness and consequently the incident took place. I would like to express my grief over the incident in Gudauri. I do hope, all the injured people soon will be fully recovered,” - Ugur Karaman commented.

The representative of the Bureau Veritas expressed gratitude to the Government of Georgia for the close cooperation within the process of inquiry – “I am grateful to the Government of Georgia for their profound support in the process of investigation. Thank you for your cooperation,” - Ugur Karaman stated.

Experts of International Expert Company of the French Bureau Veritas were invited by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development in Georgia to determine technical inspection and reasons of incident on the chairlift in Gudauri on March 16.
