Prime Minister Of Georgia Nominated Giorgi Kobulia for Position of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development

Prime Minister of Georgia, Mamuka Bakhtadze nominated Giorgi Kobulia for the position of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development at the briefing held at the Government Administration of Georgia.

Giorgi Kobulia was the representative of one of the world’s leading consulting companies – the McKinsey, during the last 18 years. As Mamuka Bakhtadze noted, this company is associated with the technological breakthroughs of 20th and 21st centuries, including a very large part of the management system. “Giorgi Kobulia has a great experience in many sectors, including energy, integration of different sectors of economy in the global economy, as well as competitiveness, labor market and much more. I am sure that he will contribute significantly to the implementation of the reforms that we have addressed and included in our government program,” – the Prime Minister of Georgia stated.

Giorgi Kobulia talked to journalists about scheduled plans and activities that will be implemented in the sector of economy. According to his assessment, equal distribution of economic revenue is the only approach for the welfare of Georgian population. As he noted, the economy will pay great attention to the development of villages and regions.

“We know that poverty level in the regions and villages are much higher, so we plan to attract serious investments in the agricultural and adjacent sectors, as well as implement serious measures to support medium and small businesses. Great attention will be paid to the industrialization and development of the technologies based on technology, which is also expected to attract additional investments,” – the candidate for the position of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated.

Giorgi Kobulia finds that programs related to the development of the regions, high technologies and industrialization require serious investments in education and skills development. According to him, attention will be paid to the strengthening of the enforcement discipline. We will elaborate very serious tools for what we plan to do,” – Giorgi Kobulia commented.

The candidate for the Minister also talked about his work experience with the media.

“For the last 18 years, I have been working with an international consulting company that provides services to world leading companies. I personally consulted the world’s leading international companies in solving the most difficult problems related to the management systems as well as strategies, enhancing the efficiency of operational and very detailed activity. I believe that experience that I have purchased for 18 years can be Georgia today and I am ready to bring this experience to our country,” – Giorgi Kobulia stated.
