Georgia’s transformation into the logistic hub, its importance and relevant strategies were highlighted by the Candidate for the position of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Giorgi Kobulia, at the four committees joint hearing at the Parliament of Georgia. According to Giorgi Kobulia, the strategic geographical location for the development of the logistical hub is a significant advantage of Georgia, which should be used wisely.

According to the candidate for the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, logistics should be further developed and the volume of the transportation as well as the cargo-flow should be increased since there is a huge opportunity there.

“We should define for ourselves how we want to develop Georgia’s logistical hub strategy, how we should contribute from the existing potential which is provided by Georgia’s geographic location,” – Giorgi Kobulia said. According to him, development of ports, railways, other transports and other components should be implemented based on mutual agreement and cooperation.

During the hearing, Giorgi Kobulia answered on the question on the Anaklia Port. “Anaklia project is part of Georgia’s logistic hub strategy and it should not be consider separately from the whole system,” – the candidate for the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development noted. According to Kobulia, the port of Anaklia is one of the largest projects in Georgia and its development is a priority.
