Our rating score has been improved by 0.42 points and this figure equals to 69.02 at this point,” – Ekaterine Mikabadze, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia declared at the briefing today.

According to the Deputy Minister, Georgia is ahead of countries such as Poland (19th place), Latvia (20th place), Slovenia (68th place), Spain (22nd place), Slovakia (25th place), Italy (26th place), Croatia (29th place), Montenegro (30th place), Macedonia (33rd place), Turkey (38th place), Armenia (39th place), Russia (42 th ed Cardamom), Azerbaijan (45th place), Ukraine (46th place) and more.

“The rating of the European Chamber considers the countries according to the existing business environment, for which the data of the World Bank’s Doing Business, as well as the Perception Index of the Transparency International Corruption is used. Thus, rating points granted to the countries are based on the data of these two ratings,” – Ekaterine Mikabadze reported.

As the Deputy Minister noted, the study of the European Chamber assesses the countries in the unified context of the business environment, comprising government policy, corporate legislative and social environment and conditions that allow the private sector to flourish both in the short-term and long-term periods of doing business.

“The rating is yet another vivid proof that the Government of Georgia is implementing the right policy aimed at improving the economic situation and contributing to the enhancement of the legislative basis necessary for business development,” – the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia stated.
