Fourth Georgia-Czech Intergovernmental Economic Session

Within the frames of the official visit of the Government Delegation of the Czech Republic, the fourth Georgia-Czech intergovernmental economic session was held at the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel, Tbilisi. The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze and the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Vladimír Bärtl co-chaired the session.

“This is the fourth intergovernmental economic commission in where we discuss prospects of further cooperation in such filed as tourism, energy, transportation, trade and other sectors that could be developed with Czech Republic,” – Genadi Arveladze told the media representatives.

As the Deputy Minister commented, cooperation with the Czech Republic in the One Belt, One Road format is also of outmost importance and the prospect in this direction are also considered. Genadi Arveladze stated that the Czech Republic, according to 2018 data, is at the fourth largest country investing in Georgia.

During the meeting of the Commission, both parties highlighted the warm and friendly relations between the two countries that creates grounds for the development of economic ties of a new level. The parties also reaffirmed their readiness to continue mutually beneficial partnership in the various sectors of the economy, which will contribute to further deepening of economic diversification, and expanding cooperation in terms of investments and trade.
