George Kobulia Opened 2018 EBRD TFP Trade Finance Forum

“Trade will always be the significant sector for Georgia. We are small economy and the development of the export and the export production are the keys for the successful economy. Therefore, the development and the contribution from the trade finance mechanisms is of outmost importance for Georgia” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated at the opening ceremony of the 2018 EBRD TFP Trade and Finance Forum which is an annual forum and its 7th session is held in Tbilisi on 18-19 October.

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development emphasized the importance of trade financing in terms of trade sector development and expressed hope that such high level forum in Tbilisi will be useful for Georgia in general and for the local businesses in particular.

The EBRD Trade Financing Program facilitates the development of foreign trade in the Member States of the Bank. Through the program, the Bank provides guarantees for international inspection banks, taking into account the political and commercial risks of payment, which is responsible for the banks of the member countries.

2018 EBRD TFP Trade and Finance Forum in Tbilisi hosts over 200 participants from 40 countries. Tbilisi hosts the event following such large cities as Vienna, Frankfurt, London and Istanbul.
