Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Natia Turnava met with the Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, Janez Kopač. The meeting focused on the ongoing reforms in the energy sector of Georgia and the commitments under the Energy Community Agreement.

As it was noted, the Government of Georgia will submit the draft Laws on Energy, Renewables, Energy Efficiency and Energy Performance of Buildings to the Parliament by the end of the year. This new regulation will significantly contribute to the establishment of the international business rules on local energy market as well as the inflow of new investments. The final target is the harmonization of the Georgian energy system with the European norms and requirements.

Energy Community Secretariat gave the positively evaluation of the ongoing reforms in Georgia and focused on the main directions and priorities for the future cooperation.
