George Kobulia Opened New Enterprise by NOVA

“Such good cooperation between the State and the private sector is very important since it provides grounds for more success and the industrialization of the country,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development told the reporters at the opening of the new enterprise of the production company NOVA. According to George Kobulia, Georgia should create as many competitive enterprises as possible that will operate not at the local but at the export markets as well.

“The company, whose new enterprise we have opened today, is one of the examples of industrialization. This project required the investment of 12 million GEL. The enterprise produces construction materials and its own logistic center. This is also a good example of the fact that such enterprise can be competitive in Georgia not only at the local market but also at the export markets. The company NOVA has replaced most of the imported materials and even managed to export products to the neighboring countries. We need more such competitive enterprises. It is important for us to have such a good cooperation between the financial, state and private sectors to achieve more success and drive forward the industrialization of this country,” – the Minister of Economy stated.

The new enterprise and warehouse infrastructure of NOVA is located in Tbilisi over 24 000 m2 plot of land. 12 million GEL were invested in the warehousing and the necessary infrastructure for the production of European standards, the production of. Within the framework of the project, the company expanded the production lines of metalworking and professorial staff material, accessories, assemblies and metalworking profiles. The project has been implemented with the support of the EBRD and the TBC Bank.

According to the company’s representatives, the NOVA produces up to 100 kinds of waterproof polyethylene tires, up to 100 types of tin sheet products - accessories and assemblies, gypsum, cardboard profiles, accessories and steel-plastic profiles. The company owns the exhibition hall and the building materials factory in Tbilisi, as well as the exhibition hall, the factory and the tanks in the city of Batumi. The company is actively organizing the warehouse-factory over 10 000 m2 plots of land in Adlia.

It is noteworthy that the branch in Adjara was opened with the support of State Program Enterprise Georgia in 2017. The program is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

According to the company, within the framework of the current project of the EBRD, the labor hygiene and safety standard OHSAS 18001: 2007 will be introduced in the NOVA.

Up to 60 people are employed in NOVA’s new enterprise and warehouse, while in total 320 people are employed in the factories in Tbilisi and Batumi.
