Ekaterine Mikabadze: Responsible business will bring us to the modern Europe

“Responsible business will definitely bring Georgia to modern Europe – this is the way to sustainable development,” – Ekaterine Mikabadze, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated at the Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Contest – Georgia’s Responsible Business Awards. The handed over to the representative of the insurance company GPI Holding the award for the Honest Operation at Market – the promotion program implemented by the company for the small and medium size business.

According to the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, “In the end, we will have not only one company and its employees that get benefits, but the whole country and its business climate will become even more attractive for the foreign investors, which is one of our priorities”.

Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Contest – Georgia’s Responsible Business Awards “Meliora” was established in 2018. The Award is organized within the frames of the Georgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative, with the support of European Union and German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The Contest is organized in collaboration and with the support of various state and business associations aiming to promote responsible business conduct in Georgia, international and local experts’ organizations and CSOs.

The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Affairs, Trade and Industry Chamber, the Mayor's office, the World Wildlife Fund, the Swedish Embassy and other organizations with best corporate social responsibility initiatives supported the Meliora.
